Praying for God to Fulfill His Promises

"Daniel's prayer shows the vital link between God's Word and prayer, both of which are a means of grace; it teaches how to use God's Word as the basis for prayer. ... Knowing God's will gave him confidence and expectation in his prayer. ... Praying for God's will to be done guarantees the answer to prayer and expresses the necessary dependence on the Lord. ... If we learn to pray according to this pattern, we will soon learn that God never says 'No' to His will. ... The more we know His word, the more we can effectively pray."
