Trenton's Bible Study — Ephesians 4:4-6

God wants Christians to be unified in the Spirit. So, Paul showed the Ephesians all that they had in common with other Christians.

Read Ephesians 4:4-6.

One of the ways we are to walk worthy of our calling is to preserve the unity of the Spirit with other Christians. But one of the difficulties is that we are all so different from each other. Not only do we have different skin color, hair color, and size, but Christians are all different in personality, too. What do we have in common that would keep us unified? Paul lists seven things that we have in common.

One Body — All believers are together called the Body of Christ. We work together to do God's will.
One Spirit — All believers have the Holy Spirit living within them. We are all taught and led by him.
One Hope — All believers have the same hope of salvation. We are all looking forward to heaven.
One Lord — All believers have the same Lord. We all serve the Lord Jesus Christ and follow him.
One Faith — All believers have the same faith. We all believe the basic truths about Jesus Christ.
One Baptism — All believers are baptized into the Body of Christ when they are born again and should be immersed in water to show publicly what God has done for them spiritually.
One God and Father — All believers are children of God the Father. We are brothers and sisters.

  1. Are all Christians the same?
  2. What seven things do all Christians have in common?
  3. Describe one of the seven things all Christians have in common.
  4. Remember all that you have in common with other Christians today and work together with them to make God look good.
